IT Support & Security Specialist

  • Hybrid
    • Berlin, Berlin, Germany
  • Product & IT

Job description

We're looking for an IT & Security Specialist to join our Product & IT team - someone who combines solid hands-on IT experience with a genuine interest in security, and who thrives on bringing structure to a setup that's grown past its’ capacity.

GO2 Markets connects buyers and sellers worldwide to facilitate the trading of environmental products and provides advisory services to help organisations develop and implement sustainability strategies.

Our IT environment has evolved alongside the business, and now it's time to give it the dedicated ownership it deserves. This role is a dynamic opportunity to shape something from the ground up in a company that is committed to globally improving sustainability.

This is a full-time, Berlin-based position with a hybrid setup, starting as soon as possible.

Job requirements

Your Mission

  • Take full ownership of GO2's IT infrastructure and everything from day-to-day support to longer-term security and process improvements.

  • Map GO2's full digital footprint: the applications, services, integrations, and devices used across the company, and how they all connect.

  • Identify security and process gaps and build & execute prioritised action plans to address them.

  • Be the go-to person for IT support requests across the company; responsive, proactive, reliable, and approachable.

  • Work with the Software Engineering team to assess the security posture of internal platforms like GO2+.

  • Review and improve remote access practices, including VPN and secure access to company resources.

  • Deliver security awareness training tailored to the needs of specific teams.

  • Research and recommend cybersecurity best practices appropriate for a company of GO2's size and stage.

  • Build and facilitate a seamless Onboarding & Offboarding experience.

What You Will Bring

  • 4+ years of experience as an IT generalist or IT administrator, ideally in a similarly sized organization.

  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Apple devices; experience with MDM software is a strong plus.

  • Proven ability to create and enforce IT and security policies, access control, password management, incident response, acceptable use and AI Governance.

  • Familiarity with SSO integrations and OAuth 2.0 flows.

  • Experience writing infrastructure documentation and SOPs.

  • A fluent working proficiency in English (writing and speaking) is required.

  • Able to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Legal teams on secure data handling, API protection, and safe platform integrations.

  • Ability to conduct regular system audits, identify vulnerabilities, and drive corrective actions.

  • Capability to smoothly handle full and sole ownership of the responsibilities and lead the processes.

  • Comfortable developing and maintaining disaster recovery and backup policies.

  • Familiarity with industry-standard cybersecurity practices, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.

  • Inquisitive and proactive; you don't wait to be told what needs to get done.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; this role requires working closely with people across every part of the business.

What We Offer

  • A bright, spacious, and dog-friendly office loft directly on the canal in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

  • A Hybrid and flexible office culture that promotes work/life balance.

  • Shape your career in a purpose-driven organization and actively contribute to a sustainable future.

  • Become part of an international team that celebrates diversity and takes responsibility at all levels.

  • Your personal and professional development is important to us – that’s why we support you with an annual training budget as well as regular internal workshops and training sessions.

  • We promote sustainable mobility with the Germany ticket for eco-friendly travel.

  • For your well-being, we offer a nationwide sports and fitness membership (Wellhub/Urban Sports Club) as well as professional mental health support through nilo.health.

  • Drinks, fruit, snacks, as well as regular team events and meaningful volunteer opportunities are a given.
